- Segunda foto de apertura (18 – 24 de Septiembre de 2014) LA VENDIMIA EN EL SIGLO XXI PODRÍA NO SER YA TAN BUCÓLICA Aunque en la memoria colectiva persistan las imágenes de bucólicas vendimias protagonizadas por folclóricos jornaleros y alegres campesinas ataviadas con impecables trajes típicos regionales, lo cierto es que la foto elegida para la segunda portada de Spanish Wine Lover es más realista respecto a la imagen que ofrece una vendimia contemporánea. La casualidad ha querido que esta vendimiadora llegara a lo viñedos de Sajazarra (La Rioja) con una camiseta en la que destellan las iniciales del país más poderoso del planeta, que pareciera ordenar, tijeras de poda en mano, quien manda, también, en el mundo del vino. Pero no dramaticemos, es solo una imagen, y lo importante sigue siendo la calidad de lo que cae en el cesto. NOT A BUCOLIC HAVERST ANYMORE? Although the harvest in Spain may be associated to bucolic portraits of traditional farmers and cheerful peasants dressed in local costumes, this shot (chosen for our second SWL front cover) is much more realistic about the way grape-picking is done nowadays. We unexpectedly found this female harvester working a vineyard in Sajazarra (DOCa Rioja). Her jumper emblazoned with the acronym of the most poweful country in the world, scissors on hand; could this be a metaphore of who rules the wine world? No need to over-dramatise.
