The grapes for Idus are sourced from local growers with long standing ties to Vall-Llach. Old vine Cariñena plays a major role in the blend (international grape varieties have not been used in this cuvée since the 2014 vintage). The power of the region comes through, even though alcohol is well-integrated and the wine is already approachable and enjoyable thanks to its silky texture. Pure Mediterranean style with very ripe red and black fruit and plenty of aromatic herbs. 17.0 points
