Masdeu de Scala Dei 2011 Tinto

Cellers Scala Dei, Priorat

Old Garancha from clay-chalk soils. The wine is fermented with stems and is aged in a 1,500-litre oak vat. Medium to light ruby colour. Evocative Mediterranean herbs and red fruit aromas. This is the least-structured wine in Scala Dei's Grenache range but it stands out for its balance and freshness. The wine making style with stems is reflected in the wine's texture, but it is so expressive and persistent that it wins over your palate. Delicious. 17.5 points
