This is one of the most original wines that can be found right now in Rioja. Olivier Rivière pioneered ageing in sherry casks and he has undoubtedly set a trend. This vintage is very expressive, with the expected oxidative edge and hints of nutmeg and dried herbs. Very fine nose and creamy, opulent palate, but really balanced. We loved the finish: the very best begins after the wine has been swallowed. 17.5 points
